KSBP is a one-person record label founded and operated by Stef. KSBP was originally founded in as a netlabel that released music for free, shifting to a pay-what-you-can model in 2010 while retaining copyleft or permissive licensing for most releases. Stef often publishes music under various names but the KSBP name is used to tie together all of these projects. She also makes art, games, and various multimedia projects under the name KSBP.

KSBP is an acronym for both Kansas Beach Party (Stef's DJ pseudonym) and Kansas Beach Patrol (one of Stef's now-retired electronic music projects).


About KSBP's Music

Stef began making electronic music in . She started sharing tracker/MOD music with friends and on various forums . She initially drew influence from electronic music, hip-hop, punk, metal, and video game music which remain present in her more recent work. She later began releasing original songs and remixes in mp3 format on . She also shared music via and throughout the 2000s before switching entirely to .

She began branching out from electronic music in the . She would go on to incorporate a large number of genres such as jazz, blues, psychedelia, industrial, metal, punk, glitch, noise, drone, ambient, and chamber music into various projects.


About Stef

Stef is a recording musician, audio engineer, multimedia artist, multidisciplinary designer and developer, and custom instrument maker based in the midwestern US. They are also a multi-instrumentalist who plays various keyboard, string, and percussion instruments.

Stef enjoys playing video games, tabletop RPGs, and board games with their friends. They collect VHS tapes, DVDs, CDs, vinyl, cassettes, retro video games, and other vintage media. They also enjoy restoring old computers, electronics, and furniture. Their other hobbies include watching movies and listening to music with their friends, cooking, gardening, woodworking, cross-stitch, reading, and nature walks.
