KSBP is a one-person record label founded and operated by Stef. KSBP was originally founded in 2006 as a netlabel that released music for free, shifting to a pay-what-you-can model in 2010 while retaining copyleft or permissive licensing for most releases. Stef often publishes music under various names but the KSBP name is used to tie together all of these projects. She also makes art, games, and various multimedia projects under the name KSBP.

KSBP is an acronym for both Kansas Beach Party (Stef's DJ pseudonym) and Kansas Beach Patrol (one of Stef's now-retired electronic music projects).

Stef began making electronic music in 2000. She started sharing tracker/MOD music with friends and on various forums the following year. She initially drew influence from electronic music, hip-hop, punk, metal, and video game music which remain present in her more recent work. She later began releasing original songs and remixes in mp3 format on her personal blog. She also shared music via P2P file sharing and torrent throughout the 2000s before switching entirely to Bandcamp in 2010.

She began branching out from electronic music in the mid 2000s. She would go on to incorporate a large number of genres such as jazz, blues, psychedelia, industrial, metal, punk, glitch, noise, drone, ambient, and chamber music into various projects.
